I began my triathlon life as an alternative summer training for my career as a competitive freestyle skier in the mid-1990’s. Eventually, after a few summers spent in Southern California’s San Diego and LA counties, I dove in head first into endurance racing competing in triathlons of all distances, rough-water ocean swims, 5k’s to ultra-distance runs.
I started teaching skiing, snowboarding and swimming in my high school years. In 1998, I also began coaching triathlon, helping my friend, mentor and training partner train women surviving breast cancer with the Los Angeles TEAM Survivor and then start the Cerritos College Triathlon club.
For the last 20+ years, I have shared my passion of sport and health coaching swim teams, triathlon, group fitness and diving at high schools, YMCAs, community centers, fitness clubs and universities.
I am currently the Head Coach of the George Washington University Triathlon Team, Director of Endurance Programs for Washington Sports Clubs/Town Sports International and the Founder of the DC Collegiate Triathlon Federation and founder of P9 Fitness.
